About The Position

The Assistant Manager for ICU and Emergency Department is a Registered Nurse with advanced knowledge, clinical skills and education and is responsible for safe and appropriate patient care, for providing instruction, direction and supervision to unit staff, serving as a clinical resource for all departments. The Assistant Manager will assist the Clinical Manager of ICU and ED in the management of operations and serves as the manager’s designee when needed. Is responsible for implementing and supervising the delivery of patient care, including organizing training, staff development and maintenance of competency.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Accredited School of Registered Nursing
  • Minimum 5 years recent clinical experience in ICU or ED.
  • 1-2 years supervisory or management experience preferred
  • National certification in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care Nursing required
  • Proven positive communication skills with coworkers, MDs, patients and families
  • Strong healthcare management and leadership skills.
  • Clinical knowledge and skills appropriate to ICU and/or ER level of care
  • Experience in responding to constant changes in tasks; use of critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work quickly and safely in a dynamic environment
  • Current State of California Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP Certification
  • Current CCRN, CEN or TNCC Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer Bachelors Degree in Nursing or equivalent experience and knowledge level of emergency medicine and clinical practice.
  • 1-2 years supervisory or management experience preferred
