As Assistant Nurse Manager, you will support the nurse manager by providing clinical supervision and unit coordination. This position offers a great way to gain extensive leadership experience while continuing to provide the best support and treatment possible. A caregiver in this position works Monday – Friday from 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. + on-call every 6th weekend rotation, and 2 holidays per year requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • RN license in Ohio
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Two years of recent clinical nurse experience in the Operating Room (OR)
  • Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills; good oral, written, and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and organization skills

Responsibilities

  • Interview, hire and train staff; provide input into performance evaluations and provides feedback.
  • Make personnel action recommendations (e.g., promotions, transfers, disciplinary, discharge).
  • Provide direction and support to the unit staff and supervises admissions, conducts assessment of patient's needs, and initiates nursing care plans.
  • Evaluate and document patient progress.
  • Facilitate the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiative, and objective for the unit.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
  • Serves as a liaison between the manager, staff, and other areas within the organization.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.
  • Prepare schedule of work assignments assuring adequate coverage.
  • Participate in and supports quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives.
  • Participate in departments and committees as assigned.
  • Assist with providing continuing education and in-service educational programs for caregivers.
