As an OR Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), you will provide clinical supervision and coordinate unit operations with other departmental disciplines under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This role involves ensuring effective and efficient patient care across all age groups during assigned shifts or as designated. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, you will assume leadership responsibilities to maintain continuity of care and operational excellence. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Two years of recent clinical nursing (OR) experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision and coordinates unit clinical operations with other departmental disciplines under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
  • Provide effective and efficient patient care to all ages on assigned shifts or as otherwise designated.
  • Assume responsibilities of nurse manager in his/her absence.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments and units regarding issues related to patient care.
  • Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts, coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues.
  • Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
  • Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers on assigned unit/area.
  • Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial corrective actions, collaborate in monitoring attendance issues.
  • Alert nurse manager of significant clinical or other performance issues.
  • Participate in interviewing, selecting and appraising the performance of employees.
  • Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.
  • Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CC policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and participate in the daily delivery of patient care on assigned unit/area.
  • Prepare schedule of work assignment assuring adequate coverage on all shifts.
  • Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives.
  • Participate in department and committees as assigned.
  • Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs.
