About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for an Assistant Nurse Manager to join our Daly 6B Medical Intercare team. Daly 6B is a 42 bed Medical Stepdown unit equipped with bedside hemodynamic measuring and 24 hour monitoring. The unit frequently cares for trached vent dependent patients and has a patient ratio of 1:5 on the Medical unit and 1:3 on the Intercare unit. The Assistant Nurse Manager will work in partnership with the nurse manager to support and lead the daily operations of the units, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while translating the philosophy and objectives of the medical center into effective action.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience with the most appropriate patient population being served.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Administers direct nursing care to patients and serves as a clinical resource and role model of clinical excellence for staff.
• Provides leadership collaboratively with the Nurse Manager in developing quality-driven and cost-effective initiatives.
• Leads a positive work environment that facilitates excellent patient and caregiver experiences.
• Manages patient care environment and collaborates with other departments to meet patient care needs.
• Accountable for managing within budget and promoting financial growth.
• Sets a progressive pace for performance improvement and implements plans for patient care delivery.
• Facilitates staffing models necessary to support case volumes and acuity.
• Evaluates clinical processes and workflows to ensure efficiency.
• Responsible for direct nurse supervision on weekends and off shifts.
• Evaluates clinical documentation to ensure completion and accuracy.
