About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for our Emergency Department located within the Florence Hospital. The Assistant Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse who provides an associate management role for a unit/department. This position provides direct nursing care as well as unit leadership. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the ANM is operationally responsible for the unit/department and for the quality of care delivered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Requirements

  • BSN required.
  • Graduate of accredited school of Nursing.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.
  • Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state required courses.
  • Three years of experience in clinical area of responsibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Nurse Manager in directing/evaluating clinical nursing activities within the scope of the department's patient care delivery system.
  • Supervises, coaches, empowers, motivates, and disciplines associates.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Magnet standards and integrates this model into unit culture.
  • Facilitates staff knowledge of Magnet principles and staff roles into shared governance.
  • Provides direct nursing care and managerial activities.
  • Advocates for patients and families by utilizing the nursing process.
  • Supports Nurse Manager in maintaining budget and staffing to meet patient demand.
  • Monitors patient experience scores and develops action plans for improvement.
  • Ensures patient experience best practices are maintained.
  • Works with manager to establish and maintain ongoing performance improvement.
  • Monitors and evaluates quality of care with focus on patient safety.
  • Demonstrates management and leadership skills by directing clinical nursing activities.
  • Maintains licensure/certification and completes all mandatory training.
  • Participates in community activities and professional organizations.
  • Monitors associate satisfaction and resolves potential issues.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice and professional standards of care.
  • Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to plan and deliver care.
