The Answer Line provides after-hours exchange and nurse triage services for about 250 subscribing community pediatricians in St. Louis and surrounding areas. It is a 365/24/7 operation that handles incoming calls from patients (parents), physicians, labs, hospitals, pharmacies, etc. Exchange staff utilize subscribing physician preferences to route calls appropriately. The exchange provides additional services for St. Louis Children’s Hospital including management of admit and discharge notifications. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible leadership opportunity. Hours are mostly daytime but require flexibility to support evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on operational need or training, with an admin on-call requirement of one week per month. The location is hybrid, combining remote work with expected on-campus presence for in-person leadership meetings and to support new staff during onboarding/training. The Assistant Nurse Manager coordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment purchased, and statistical accumulation. St. Louis Children’s Hospital is dedicated to improving the health and lives of children, providing comprehensive, high-quality care in more than 50 specialty areas. It consistently ranks among America’s Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S.News & World Report and has been designated as a Magnet® hospital for nursing excellence since 2005.
