Job Title: Assistant Mobile Grocery Manager Success Factors Job Code : Department: Center Store (Grocery) Location: Multiple Food Lion locations within a designated area Reports To: Mobile Center Store (Grocery) Manager Primary Purpose: Assist the Mobile Center Store (Grocery) Manager in the management and duties of the Mobile Grocery Team. Support Mobile Center Store (Grocery) Manager in providing quality customer service within the Center Store (Grocery) Department. Responsible for maintaining standards in accordance with the standard practice manual, maximizing sales through excellent customer service and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of standard practice. Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization. Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Food Lion Strategy.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
  • Ability to use technical information to solve problems
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Good understanding of store operations preferred
  • Ability to lead and manage a team

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Mobile Grocery Team in the absence of the Mobile Grocery Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of all Mobile Grocery associates, providing ongoing performance management, training, and labor management
  • Assist the Center Store (Grocery) Manager as necessary to hire, train, and maintain an efficient, productive, and qualified stock crew
  • In the absence of the Mobile Grocery Manager, ensure Mobile Grocery Team’s schedules are written to provide extraordinary customer service at all times and adequate coverage for grocery stocking activities
  • Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of our Brand Strategy and Culture
  • Provide recognition of accomplishments and offer coaching when necessary
  • Daily management of labor (i.e. expected live) and the coaching of associates to achieve productivity expectation
  • Assist Mobile Grocery Manager and Mobile Grocery Associates in stocking merchandise to the shelf in accordance with policies and guidelines
  • Smile and role model an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, easy, flexible and friendly customer service all while creating a positive shopping experience for customers
  • Courteous and helpful to other associates
  • Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
  • Understand and use company tools such as; financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and business information systems.
  • Understands and utilizes Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS)
  • Monitor shrink ensuring that inventory is accounted for; provide coaching for associates to recognize and prevent losses
  • Ensure that all advertising and sales promotion materials applicable to the Grocery Department are properly utilized
  • Maintain a complete understanding of and adherence to company guidelines, policies and standard practice
  • Understand and follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures
  • Perform duties that ensure department appearance, quality, workplace safety, and food safety are consistently maintained
  • Observe and correct all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Successfully complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet and Training Aid courses
  • Place only saleable merchandise on the shelves
  • Maintain shelf allocations as indicated by the item tags
  • Ensure that stocking, conditioning and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with policies and guidelines
  • Report all associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty
  • Ensure the Center Store (Grocery) Associates maintain a clean, neat appearance
  • Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times; comply with company dress code and personal appearance guidelines
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
