About The Position

The Assistant Merchant of USCA Levi's ® Women's Bottoms creates compelling assortments and manages daily assortment and our needs for a class or subclass(es). They partner with the USCA Men's Merchants to guide the strategy for Women's Bottoms and partners to bring seasonal category visions to life. The Assistant Merchant understands their customers' needs and market dynamics to create the right product mix for the marketplace. About the Job Create assortment strategy for Women's Bottoms class or subclass(es) based on analysis of both our internal metrics, competitive landscape, consumer insights and macro trends. Deliver assortments that support key brand and cluster strategies while achieving financial targets. Partner with planner and allocator on weekly business reviews, open-to-buy management, and plan revisions to achieve financial goals and strategic goals. Analyze weekly and monthly product performance, partnering with Planning & Allocation and Sr. Merchant. This partnership identifies risks and opportunities. Determine and guide short-, medium-, and long-term actions to increase opportunities and minimize risks. Prepare for, present during Milestone Meetings including Briefs, Hindsight, Sales Launch, Assortment Reviews, Product Reviews, and Investment Reviews. Engage and partner with Global & Cluster Merchandising teams to ensure agreement and influence Merchandising Strategy; ensure USCA Women's Bottoms needs are met. You will report into our Sr. Merchant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
  • 2 years direct merchandising/buying experience working at an apparel manufacturer, retailer, or marketer.
  • Knowledge of merchandising and design trends; ability to apply that knowledge, connect the dots and create product assortments that win in the marketplace.
  • Understand financial measurements including sales, gross margin, inventory turn, ST%, weeks of supply, their impact on the business and how to impact them.
  • Knowledge of the customer and categories under management with a passion for both product and consumers.
  • Excel (can perform complex functions).
