About The Position

The Assistant Media Planner for Out of Home works closely with the Supervisors and Planners in developing and maintaining media plans, while absorbing as much media knowledge as possible about the overall business. The role involves assisting in the development and execution of OOH and print media plans, compiling data to support media recommendations, updating media planning documents for client use, and communicating and collaborating with internal teams. The position also includes collecting competitive research, assisting with client-supplied creative files, conducting campaign audits, and developing professional relationships with media vendors. The Assistant Media Planner will participate in training programs to learn media concepts, fundamentals, and presentation skills, while keeping abreast of industry trends.

Requirements

  • College graduate with a strong interest in a media planning/digital media career
  • Relevant experience (employment or internship) in media or advertising preferred, but not required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong quantitative (analytical and math) skills
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and communicate clearly when participating in internal and client-facing meetings
  • Ability to be agile and adaptable within a quick turnaround business environment
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to problem solving and critical thinking
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint/Keynote

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the development and execution of OOH and print media plans
  • Compiling data to support the media recommendation, including running syndicated research on the consumer
  • Updating media planning documents for client use
  • Communicating and collaborating with internal planning, activation and digital teams
  • Collecting competitive research and preparing reports
  • Assisting print/OOH team with client-supplied Adobe InDesign creative files
  • Developing filmmaker presentations on Keynote for client use
  • Assisting with the contracting of inventory and organizing proof-of-performance photos and reports
  • Conducting campaign audits through 'market rides' with vendor partners
  • Developing professional relationships with media vendors
  • Participating in brainstorm sessions
  • Attending the OMG23 Media Training Program to learn media concepts and terminology
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends through advertising and media trade journals
