About The Position
The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to assist project teams in creating world-class designs for a variety of projects. These projects include power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. The role involves collaborating with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting mechanical plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs. In this position, the Assistant Mechanical Engineer will assist in the mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through to design completion. This includes modifying and reviewing production drawings for various projects, such as power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, and governmental and military facilities. The engineer will also be responsible for designing mechanical components that meet the project needs and requirements set forth by project managers. The role requires applying basic knowledge of commonly used mechanical engineering and design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry. The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will assist with research and compile project-related data as required by project managers. Additionally, the engineer will correct and update drawings provided by senior engineers to ensure that all corrections are made within multiple CAD-related software. The position also involves assisting with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for the design of various facilities. Field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients may also be part of the responsibilities. The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will perform other duties as assigned and must comply with all policies and standards.
