About The Position

Set against the stunning backdrop of North Idaho, the Coeur d’Alene Resort Golf Course is known for exceptional playing conditions and attention to detail. We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Assistant Mechanic/Technician to join our Golf Course Maintenance team and support the performance of our equipment fleet. As the Assistant Mechanic/Technician, you will work closely with the Equipment Manager to maintain, repair, and optimize all turf and grounds equipment. This hands-on role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient operations and delivering the high course standards our resort is known for.

Requirements

  • Experience in mechanical repair, small engines, or turf equipment maintenance preferred
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Responsibilities

  • Assist with diagnosing, repairing, and adjusting engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, reels, cutting units, and small equipment
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, blade sharpening, and reel grinding
  • Support mower setup and calibration to meet high cut-quality and performance expectations
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance programs and regular fleet inspections
  • Maintain shop organization, tools, and inventory areas while ensuring safety compliance
  • Assist with ordering parts, tracking inventory, and coordinating with vendors
  • Help with reel grinding, bedknife installation, height-of-cut adjustments, and quality control checks
  • Maintain detailed cutting-unit and equipment service records Support operator training on safe equipment use and daily inspection procedures
  • Promote accountability by identifying improper use, equipment concerns, or unsafe conditions
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service schedules, and fleet documentation
  • Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and priorities with the Equipment Manager and leadership team
