About The Position

Marin Country Club is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Mechanic. This position is ideal for someone with a basic understanding of hand tools and strong mechanical aptitude who is looking to develop skills in the turf equipment maintenance at a top-level facility. Working alongside an experienced Head Mechanic, the Assistant Mechanic will be exposed to all aspects of maintaining and repairing golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, sprayers, tractors, and small engines. Our goal is to develop your mechanical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and preventative maintenance practices in a professional shop environment. Pay: $25 - $30

Requirements

• Must be able to follow written and verbal directions
• Team oriented attitude and good communication skills
• Ambition to grow into a lead or head equipment manager position over time
• Basic understanding of hand tools is required
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift 50lbs and walk/stand for extended periods of time
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail is a must
• Availability to work early mornings
• Availability to work weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Previous mechanical, small engine, automotive, or equipment experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assisting with routine maintenance and repair of golf course equipment
• Assisting with reel and bed knife grinding and cutting unit set up
• Daily equipment and cutting unit checks for next day use
• Using hand tools safely and correctly
• Performing oil changes, blade maintenance, lubrication, and inspection
• Assisting with troubleshooting and repair of mechanical issues under supervision
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Supporting daily equipment readiness for course operation
• Ability to help with maintenance of the golf course in the morning when extra help is needed (ex. Mowing, raking, watering, etc.)
