About The Position

As our Assistant Meat Manager, you'll work alongside the Meat Manager to keep our meat department running smoothly. From expertly cutting and preparing meats to mentoring staff and ensuring every order is perfect, you'll be at the heart of making customers' grocery experiences special. This is a hands-on, fun, and rewarding leadership position where no two days are ever the same!

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years managing a meat department in a grocery or retail environment.
• Expert butchering skills with all tools, including bandsaws.
• Flexible and dependable-you can work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Passion for high-quality products, food safety, and customer service.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and ready to inspire a team.
• Experience hiring, training, and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Cutting and preparing all types of meat with skill and precision using knives, bandsaws, and other tools.
• Receiving shipments and making sure all products are fresh, priced correctly, and rotated properly.
• Leading your team with care, training staff, and making sure everyone operates safely.
• Managing department expenses, reducing waste, and helping the store meet budget goals.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety, sanitation, and labeling regulations.
• Greeting customers warmly and helping with special orders to make their experience the best it can be.
• Jumping in wherever needed to keep the department organized, efficient, and inviting.
