About The Position

Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service. Assist customers with product suggestions, special orders, and food preparation guidance. Engage in suggestive selling and sales techniques via telephone, intercom, and direct customer interaction. Daily Operations & Department Leadership Assist with planning daily operations and monitoring production processes in alignment with company procedures and profitability standards. Understand all opening and closing procedures for the department. Supervise, train, schedule, and assign duties to department employees. Train staff on store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping requirements. Maintain knowledge of all duties performed by department employees. Meat Cutting, Production & Merchandising Trim, cut, wrap, tray, and display meat products. Build and maintain meat and seafood displays; rotate stock and remove outdated or spoiled items. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Ensure compliance with trim specifications, cutting standards, and product preparation techniques. Maintain required temperatures throughout preparation, display, and storage. Inventory, Ordering & Shrink Control Control shrink and manage costs. Maintain proper inventory levels according to division directives. Stock, rotate, and organize product, including maintaining an orderly meat cooler. Ensure proper code dating and enforcement of dating standards for all products. Assist in preparing sales and inventory reports; participate in physical inventory every 4 weeks. Equipment Operation & Safety Operate and maintain department equipment, including pallet jacks, hand trucks, knives, grinders, saws, cubers, and safety cutters. Ensure equipment, cutting rooms, freezers, coolers, and work areas are clean, sanitized, and safe. Implement emergency procedures in cases of equipment or software malfunctions. Comply with all workplace safety rules, sanitation guidelines, and company grooming and dress code standards. Receiving, Logs & Administrative Duties Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders, inspect quality, report shortages, and follow temperature and storage guidelines. Ensure proper packaging and maintain accurate department records. Complete and monitor required logs and paperwork, including: Daily log sheets Production charts Meat Grinding Logs Sales and Labor reports Other required documentation Regulatory & Policy Compliance Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and Country of Origin Labeling (COOL). Comply with retail labeling laws, federal/state regulations, and company policies. Maintain working knowledge of company guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Team Communication & Store Support Attend and participate in sales meetings as needed. Communicate sales goals, department performance, and sales opportunities to employees. Other Perform all job duties with honesty, integrity, accuracy, and safety. Perform other necessary and assigned duties as required. Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
