About The Position

This position supports the day-to-day operations of the 2nd Street Market, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for vendors, visitors, and staff. This position assists with market oversight, vendor relations, event coordination, and facility operations.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business management or a closely related field. or
  • 5 years of customer service experience in a retail setting or other equivalent experience.
  • Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and most weekends.
  • Valid Driver's License which meets Five Rivers MetroParks' insurance carrier guidelines.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screening test prior to employment.

  • Experience working in marketing, communications, or a closely related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational support for the Market by overseeing daily opening and closing procedures, delivering exceptional customer service, and promptly addressing vendor and customer concerns.
  • Takes a lead role in forming partnerships that further the strategic initiatives of MetroParks while also having a positive impact on cost recovery.
  • Leads a team that plans, budgets annually and coordinates logistics for special events and programming.
  • Leads efforts to promote market vendors to the community.
  • Schedules and promotes events on the Market's social media platforms by creating content and coordinating joint promotions with the Marketing Department and Market vendors.
  • Participates in the selection process for new vendors.
  • Performs administrative and clerical tasks, including maintaining attendance and performance records, managing budgets, processing accounts payable/receivable, and completing other office duties as assigned. Performs bank reconciliations in accordance with MetroParks policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a point of contact for vendors, visitors, and community partners; respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, orientation of vendors, and seasonal staff.
  • Help plan and coordinate special events, programs, and community outreach activities at the Market.
  • Monitor facility cleanliness, maintenance needs, and safety concerns; report or resolve issues as appropriate.
  • Assist with financial transactions, budget tracking, and data collection for reporting.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and customer-focused experience for all visitors.
  • Acts as the Market Manager in their absence.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and records.
  • Monitor compliance with market rules, health/safety regulations, and agency policies. Works assigned schedule with consistent, punctual attendance, and is available to work outside normal hours as required.
  • Provides service to the public, responding to questions, offering assistance, and providing information.
  • Collaborates internally, within and across departmental boundaries, to provide information and service to others in the organization to contribute to the effective operation of the agency and all staff.
  • Makes presentations to groups and gives tours both onsite and for community outreach.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
