About The Position

The Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness is responsible for overseeing various operational aspects of the fitness club, particularly focusing on front desk management and assisting the General Manager. This role requires effective multitasking in a fast-paced environment, ensuring superior customer service, and maintaining club standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required (Associates degree preferred).
• 6 months of supervisory or managerial experience in a high-volume restaurant or retail environment (1 year preferred).
• Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
• Strong decision-making skills and a solid work ethic.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work with minimal supervision.
• Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bi-lingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage front desk personnel and assist the General Manager in daily operations.
• Understand and drive club metrics in alignment with business performance.
• Conduct initial phone interviews for front desk and fitness instructor positions.
• Monitor inventory and review sales numbers with the General Manager to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Communicate and uphold company standards, leading by example in delivering the organization's mission and values.
• Ensure team members comply with punctuality, dress code, friendliness, and cleanliness standards.
• Develop and maintain cleaning duties for front desk employees and oversee overnight staff.
• Coordinate disciplinary actions and terminations with management and HR.
• Cover shifts for employees when necessary and assist the Club Manager with shift coverage.
• Oversee club audits to ensure cleanliness and organization of the facility.
• Mentor front-end employees to promote career growth through training and performance assessment.
