About The Position

We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team at our Avon, OH location! Assistant Managers have the opportunity to support, assist and grow into the role of market manager. This individual will play a key role in driving sales, supporting daily operations, and delivering outstanding service to our customers. The ideal candidate is upbeat, solutions-oriented, and thrives in a retail environment where relationship-building and a positive attitude is essential. The Assistant Manager is responsible for acting as the backup to the market manager in all activities and filling in while the market manager is out of the store. Requirements

Associates’ Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Minimum of two years of experience with retail or industry sales management experience preferred
Emotionally resilient and able to drive projects effectively for excellence against demanding targets in a complex, multi-disciplined environment
Customer oriented and able to operate effectively in a high pressure environment and pressing customer deadlines
Ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers
Strong conflict management skills
Enthusiastic, with a drive for results
Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment
Proficiency in office IT suite (excel, word and PowerPoint)
Ability to learn new programs/software as needed
Willingness to run front end loader, skid steer, and other equipment as necessary (training provided).
Creativity in providing customer solutions
Ability to quickly become knowledgeable regarding the product lines
Exposure to loud noises, hot/cold temperatures, dust, and other environmental factor

Nice To Haves

Experience in landscaping/construction industry a plus, not required. We will train you on our products!

Responsibilities

Serve as a backup and assist the market manager
Work directly with the market manager to measure, review and take the needed action to achieve all stated store goals.
Managing store performance to maximize store profitability by servicing and maintaining customer base
Actively engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate products
Maintaining store security including inventory control, cash handling, and equipment maintenance
Ensure compliance with all company, state and federal policies and laws by working with Human Resources
Ensure all Kurtz Bros policies & procedures are being followed by team members and complete disciplinary actions when necessary.
Support and maintain store operations
Assist market manager with staff supervision, training, and scheduling
Maintain accuracy in inventory tracking and documentation and ensure appropriate in-store inventory levels to meet customer needs and meet goals
Enforce and maintain the overall store appearance, merchandise display, and on-site equipment, reporting repairs as needed
Follow all Kurtz Brothers, Inc. safety guidelines and complete incident reports immediately when required
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.
May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
