About The Position

Black Family Hospitality (BFH) is a family-owned Texas institution known for its authentic Texas barbecue and elevated dining experiences since 2014. BFH is expanding with a new concept that combines immersive entertainment, expertly crafted cocktails, thoughtful cuisine, and experiential hospitality. The Restaurant Assistant Manager will oversee the daily operations of the restaurant under the General Manager's guidance, ensuring consistent service, quality, and performance standards. This role involves supervising front-of-house and back-of-house staff, managing shift schedules, monitoring inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Assistant Manager will also support staff training and development, handle guest inquiries, drive sales through cost control and operational efficiency, assist in policy implementation, track financial performance, and foster a positive team culture to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Training for this role will occur in Dallas and/or Austin, TX until the new location opens.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the restaurant under the guidance of the General Manager.
  • Ensure that all service, quality, and performance standards are consistently met.
  • Supervise front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
  • Coordinate shift schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support staff training and development.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Help drive sales through effective cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in implementing company policies.
  • Track financial performance.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture that delivers an exceptional dining experience for every guest.
  • Train and support restaurant staff.
  • Supervise staff schedule compliance and overall staff performance.
  • Conduct disciplinary/coaching meetings that are timely and constructive.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with restaurant policy.
  • Supervise food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience.
  • Handle customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
  • Ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.
  • Conduct daily inspection of restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
  • Periodically evaluate restaurant equipment for repairs and maintenance, schedules for service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
