About The Position

- Assistant manager helps maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. - At the direction and delegation of the Store Manager, the assistant assists with supervision of store employees, management and presentation of merchandise and completion of paperwork. - The assistant also performs stocking and cashiering functions and performs other duties as necessary to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets and reducing losses. - Must be able to work different shifts including holidays and weekends.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a retail store.
  • Demonstrates leadership and integrity with experience managing a staff of team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong merchandising and visual skills.
  • Excellent organization skills; able to plan and execute tasks efficiently.
  • Proactive and creative problem-solving ability.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to multi-task and balance multiple priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work weekends, nights and holidays
  • Strong Retail/Sales experience.
  • Must have a customer-centric attitude.
  • Enjoy interacting with different types of people and personalities.
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Good organization and customer service skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform cash register functions and generate shift reports.
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service leadership.
  • Greet and assist customers and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer’s purchase.
  • Assist the Store Manager with scheduling employees.
  • Provide adequate training for employees.
  • Conduct safety meetings.
  • Ensuring employee compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Follow company work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and rotating merchandise on shelves and building merchandise displays.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
  • Assist in ensuring the financial integrity of the store through strict cashier accountability, key control, and cash control procedures.
  • Authorize and sign for refunds and overrides.
  • Assist with the management of the store in the Store Manager’s absence.
