About The Position

The Assistant Property Manager supports the Property Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the apartment community to ensure financial performance, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and exceptional resident satisfaction. This role is responsible for leasing support, rent collections, delinquency management, resident relations, administrative oversight, and supervision of on-site staff in the Manager’s absence. The Assistant Property Manager must demonstrate strong organizational skills, customer service excellence, financial awareness, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining compliance with company policies and housing regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficient in personal computer skills and business-related software including Microsoft office products and use of e-mail
  • Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal
  • Customer Focus - Consistently delivers high-level service and builds positive resident relationships.
  • Financial Acumen - Understands rent collections, delinquency control, reporting accuracy, and expense awareness.
  • Communication Skills - Communicates clearly and professionally in verbal and written formats.
  • Organizational Excellence - Manages multiple priorities, maintains accurate documentation, and meets deadlines.
  • Compliance & Integrity - Adheres to Fair Housing laws, company policies, and ethical standards.
  • Problem Solving - Proactively identifies issues and develops effective solutions.
  • Leadership & Accountability - Provides direction when needed and takes ownership of responsibilities.
  • Sales & Persuasion - Applies closing techniques and follow-up strategies to achieve leasing goals.
