About The Position

The Assistant Property Manager supports the Property Manager in the day-to-day operations of a multi-family residential community. This role involves assisting with tenant relations, managing property maintenance, and handling administrative tasks to ensure smooth property operations. The Assistant Property Manager will help with leasing activities, address tenant concerns, process rent payments and ensure compliance with company policies and housing regulations. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to enhancing resident satisfaction and maintaining property standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in property management
  • Assistant property management or leasing experience
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build relationships
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
  • Excellent time management skills; detail-oriented and thorough
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self‐starter comfortable working in an environment with evolving roles and responsibilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word

Responsibilities

  • Manage delinquent accounts and implement collections procedures.
  • Conduct follow-ups on high-balance and overdue accounts.
  • Process and track rent payments to ensure timely collection.
  • Develop and enforce strategies to reduce delinquency rates.
  • Negotiate payment plans with tenants and address payment issues.
  • Prepare and send collection notices, legal documents, and statements of accounts.
  • Handle eviction filings and ensure legal compliance.
  • Submit accounts to collection agencies as needed.
  • Inspect vacant units using Site Audit Pro software and complete daily reports.
  • Maintain property operations in the Property Manager’s absence.
  • Assist with leasing, including property tours, application processing, and move-ins.
  • Conduct market research on rental trends and competitor practices.
  • Organize resident events to enhance community engagement.
  • Resolve resident complaints and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Oversee move-in/move-out processes and place move-in gifts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and housing regulations.
  • Provide financial and operational updates to the Property Manager.
  • Perform all other duties as needed.
