About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily retail operations, ensuring the highest standards of Helpful customer service, and directing projects and responsibilities assigned and delegated by the Store Manager. This role involves opening and closing the store, ensuring safety and security, and possessing knowledge of overall store policies, procedures, and goals. The Assistant Manager must also be capable of understanding management responsibilities and filling in for the Store Manager as needed. Key duties include overseeing tasks delegated to store team members, training and supervising personnel to ensure optimum performance and amazing customer service, assisting in maintaining accurate inventory, and performing general housekeeping to keep the store safe for both team members and customers. Additional responsibilities include shopping the competition monthly, participating in and sometimes leading monthly store meetings, overseeing inventory order placement, receiving, and stocking. The Assistant Manager is expected to achieve sales and productivity goals established by the Store Manager, maintain acceptable gross margin levels, ensure the safe working condition of store equipment and fixtures, and set a positive example by following company procedures. This role also involves developing promotions to increase store traffic, ensuring proper merchandising of end-caps, cross merchandising, and feature displays, and demonstrating helpful customer service by greeting and assisting customers on the sales floor. Resolving customer claims and complaints in a timely, courteous, and discreet manner, authorizing refunds consistent with company policy, and processing weekly hot sheets and price adjustments to ensure timely bin tagging are also part of the job. Finally, the Assistant Manager must attend and assist with mandatory monthly store meetings and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the store manager.
