About The Position

Assists the Store Director in operating a profitable, clean, well-merchandised convenience store, with the primary purpose being to manage the store operations and staff in the absence of the Store Director. Trains and supervises Team Members to provide high quality guest relations. Supports the Store Director and staff to reach the store’s goals. Represents Superpumper in a professional manner in all dealings with Team Members, vendors and guest.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of retail operations.
  • Knowledge of retail practices and procedures, including personnel policies.
  • Mathematical skill to calculate and interpret data using percentages, ratios, averages, and medians.
  • Skill in operating various office equipment, such as personal computer, calculator, facsimile, and copy machine.
  • Skill in operating various machines typical in the retail setting, such as cash register, credit card machine, and gas pump console.
  • Written communication skill to compose written performance feedback, memos, and reports.
  • Oral communication skill to communicate with guest, co-workers, vendors, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Interpersonal communication skill to negotiate agreements favorable to the Company, reconciling differences to arrives at acceptable solutions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as procedure manuals, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to develop and administer an expense budget for a single profit center.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Ability to provide a high level of guest relations by answering questions, providing accurate information, and responding to requests on a timely basis.
  • Ability to support other employees by being directly responsible for improving information, services, or support other employees need to do their jobs.

  • Ability to follow store policies and procedures during emergency situations.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and or 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Must be proficient in all aspects of the Assistant Store Director’s job descriptions.
  • Manages alternating shifts with the Store Director. Works first shift when Store Director is off and second shift on other days. Must work at least forty-two hours per week. Ensures all guests receive the highest level of guest relations including greeting, suggestive selling, sincere thank you, and please come again, always maintaining the highest degree of professionalism.
  • Interviews and makes recommendations for hiring new Team Members. Assists in training Team Members in all facets of store operations. Conducts performance evaluations, reporting progress and issues to the Store Director. Ensures shifts are fully staffed, filling in for absent Team Members when necessary.
  • Accurately completes Daily Sales Report in a timely manner, processes invoices daily, and processes payroll accurately utilizing PDI system. Tracks sales, monitors markdown sheets and transfers to control store inventory and accountability. Completes all required logs and paperwork.
  • Increases sales by training Team Members to comply with suggestive selling program. Displays sales merchandise to promote customer awareness and generate additional sales. Ensures that the car wash area is kept customer ready at all times.
  • Trains all Team Members on cash handling procedures involving cash, credit cards, lottery, and drops. Properly and accurately accounts for all sales transactions.
  • Assists Store Director in ordering, pricing, and receiving merchandise. Ensures that all price labels are current and contain accurate information. Ensures accurate documentation of all price changes and transfers to control inventory.
  • Supervises Team Members to ensure that the store is clean, stocked and in first class condition at all times. Maintains high cleaning standards including the store, parking lot, restrooms, storage room, equipment and landscaped areas. Cleans all spills immediately to remove any safety hazards.
  • Ensures all policies and procedures are followed by all Team Members, including alcohol and tobacco sale regulations, to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures that all Team members on duty are in proper uniform and abides by company policy on appearance.
  • Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed and adhered to by all Team Member. Practices and trains preventative safety procedures to maintain an accident free workplace. Responds appropriately to emergency situations and reports all incidents and accidents.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by Store Director or Superpumper’s Management Team.
