About The Position

The Assistant Manager position at Del Taco in Dearborn Heights, MI, is designed to protect and deliver the Del Taco Brand while growing sales and maximizing the efficiency and profitability of the restaurant. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the General Manager or act as the lead manager to ensure that the restaurant operates smoothly and meets its goals.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Manager's efforts to adequately staff the restaurant with quality people.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain all restaurant employees in compliance with the employee position report.
  • Ensure the entire team is certified according to the current training process at all times.
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning and create a service-oriented culture.
  • Promote an environment of fun and teamwork.
  • Evaluate performance and recommend salary increases.
  • Recommend, approve, and administer disciplinary action, suspension, and/or termination.
  • Develop and grow team members.
  • Execute Del Taco Standards and use processes and systems 100% of the time.
  • Maintain the facility and customer areas, ensuring all equipment meets operational and safety standards.
  • Deliver quality products to Del Taco standards every time.
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules and standards.
  • Ensure employees are in proper uniform and that a consistent service experience is provided.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in identifying and communicating sales goals.
  • Ensure the right people are in the right places according to projected/actual sales.
  • Increase customer count and check average, maximizing capacity and customer value.
  • Support the General Manager in identifying and executing Local Store Marketing opportunities.
  • Stay aware of local events and understand the store's current trade area and competition.
  • Execute speed and service standards, including marketing promotions and campaigns.
  • Maintain staffing levels to actual sales and comply with labor laws.
  • Accurately order and manage inventory to reduce waste and prevent theft.
  • Ensure cash handling procedures and standards are in place and followed.
  • Perform cash audits and address identified issues.
  • Execute safety and health standards and minimize costs by managing service vendors efficiently.
