About The Position

Join us as a Wellness Assistant Manager and help guide the daily operations of the Wellness Department. In this role, you’ll support staff leadership, maintain strong inventory and merchandising standards, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment that reflects Boise Co-op’s values.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and follow-through skills with the ability to execute department goals effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers, staff, and vendors.
  • Calm, objective, and professional demeanor in fast-paced or challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of leadership principles, supervision, and training best practices.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and varied schedules.
  • Minimum two years of retail and/or customer service experience required.
  • Experience in purchasing or inventory management required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to operate department equipment.

  • Interest in or exposure to holistic wellness preferred.
  • Knowledge of leadership, supervision, or training practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Department Manager with hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management to support strong team development.
  • Organize and oversee daily workload to manage freight, back stock, stocking, and product rotation efficiently.
  • Ensure products are accurately labeled with correct descriptions, ingredients, and pricing in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels, shrink, credits, and returns while following departmental procedures.
  • Ensure freight is processed promptly and merchandise is stocked neatly to maintain full, organized shelves.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and well-organized work areas and sales floors.
  • Foster a safe environment by following all health and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Department Manager to create seasonal and promotional merchandising displays.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and leadership to align on goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Support special projects, vendor communication, and departmental reporting as needed.
