About The Position

Under the direction of the Surveillance Manager, the Surveillance Assistant Manager, will be responsible for overseeing Surveillance shift operations and the supervision of the Surveillance employees in a shift work environment. The incumbent ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and assists in providing a learning environment while establishing and contributing to a safe and welcoming workplace for all employees.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary education or comparable working experience in related fields with strength in gaming/surveillance areas.
  • Minimum of five (5) or more years of casino surveillance experience; minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in the related field; gaming experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer software packages and basic math skills.
  • A proficient knowledge of Internal Controls, AGCO & OLG Policies, Procedures and regulations, along with knowledge of the gaming operations including protection initiatives and different forms of cheating (including devices).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and managerial skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Extreme confidentiality.
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Manage multiple tasks concurrently in a changing environment.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk distances.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy.
  • May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to excessive noise and constant exposure to general public.

Responsibilities

  • Fosters a safe and efficient work environment while maintaining an open door policy.
  • A strong presence in the Surveillance Room will be vital to your management of people and interacting with internal customers while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Assists the Surveillance Manager with the operation of the Surveillance Department.
  • Assists with the implementation of surveillance operations and strategic plans.
  • Assisting with hiring, training, evaluations, recognition, development and succession planning processes.
  • Your strong organizational skills will require to delegate tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain employee engagement.
  • Provides supervision of Surveillance Supervisors during a shift.
  • Assists in overseeing and providing direction for supervisory tasks, special reviews and investigations.
  • Oversee and coordinate employee scheduling, staffing levels and assisting in the resolution of payroll issues.
  • You will ensure compliance with Gaming Commission of Tejon regulations and all applicable laws, policies and procedures.
  • Lead or facilitate meetings when required.
  • Liaise with other department Shift Managers.
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules including weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.
