The Assistant Manager of Store Operations supervises and coordinates the activities of employees, ensuring customer needs are met. This role requires maintaining a positive attitude and fostering an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork. The Assistant Manager is responsible for generating a friendly environment by encouraging employees to greet and speak to customers, providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service, and setting a good example. They must exhibit caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions, treating customers as the most important people in the store. This includes greeting customers, learning their names, assisting them with products, loading heavy items, and passing along suggestions to enhance the shopping experience. The role also involves answering telephones promptly and providing helpful service. A key responsibility is perpetuating the fundamental values of the Hy-Vee culture, which includes honesty, integrity, friendliness, caring for customers and employees, sincerity, respect, high ethics and morals, dedication to providing the best products and values, sharing information, fairness, good manners, dignity, and involvement in company improvement and growth.
