The Assistant Manager of Rail Equipment Maintenance (REM) manages all operational activities of the Rail Equipment Maintenance department including maintenance, repair and overhaul of light rail vehicles. They are responsible for employee and labor relations, performance management, and monitoring of resource allocation and productivity. The Manager works to ensure a commitment to safety through effective leadership, role modeling and implementing practices that demonstrate safety is a fundamental value and a priority in all aspects of work. They supervise staff responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, installation, servicing and alteration of TriMet's rail equipment. This position prepares and initiates routine reports of work accomplished and time and materials expended. This position requires a minimum of five (5) days per week in-person. Perform related duties as required. Serve as a good steward of TriMet by regularly utilizing our transit system to maintain a strong and current understanding of customers' experiences and of TriMet's product and service offerings.
