Position Summary: The Pre/Post Assistant Manager, has the privilege of leading an experienced team, including RNs and CNAs, during day-to-day operations ensuring efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care in addition to the strategic planning of the department/organization. This position has a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for effective decision making and collaboration with other departments to ensure the highest possible value to the patient through excellence in quality, service, and financial management. You will be an integral part of an organization who values being Always TRUE in promoting trust, respect, understanding, and engagement with all team members.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Registered Nursing licensed in the State of Nebraska or eligible compact state required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life (PALS) certifications required.
  • 2+ years of clinical experience required.
  • 1+ years leadership skills/experience required.
  • Ability to manage staff scheduling, inventory control, and administrative workflows.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work with diverse teams
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and understanding of surgical center operations
  • High level of critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, and accreditation standards (e.g. The Joint Commission)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily operations of the unit ensuring efficiency and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Supervise and support administrative and clinical staff assisting with hiring, training, and performance management
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation regulations
  • Collaborate with the management team on budgeting, financial reporting, and cost management initiatives
  • Address staff and patient concerns with the intent to improve patient satisfaction and experience
  • Assist with quality assurance initiatives, risk management, and infection control procedures
  • Act as a liaison between surgeons, nurses, staff, and external vendors
  • Participate in operational planning and implementation of process improvement initiatives as needed
  • Create and foster teamwork and engagement within the department
  • Attend, plan, and assist in leading department meetings and educational opportunities
  • Ensure care delivery system provided meets cultural and age-related needs of the patient population
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform essential staff functions and assist with direct patient care as needed
  • Employee is responsible for all other duties as assigned for which competency has been demonstrated.
