About The Position

The Assistant Manager of Health Wellness Home at Hy-Vee is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees to ensure that customer needs are met. The Assistant Manager will oversee training, handle employee issues, and ensure compliance with store standards and procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• One year or more of retail experience, including performing the duties of a Service Manager.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees.
• Ensures that customer's needs are met.

• Generates a friendly atmosphere by encouraging employees to greet and speak to customers.
• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading/unloading heavy items.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service.
• Oversees proper training and handles employee issues.
• Assists management in determining pricing and product placement.
• Ensures compliance with store accounting procedures.
• Oversees building maintenance and store sanitation.
• Uses and understands all hardware and software technology in the store.
• Evaluates employee performance and recommends personnel actions.
• Trains and enforces safety procedures.
• Directs the ordering of merchandise.
• Coordinates compliance of employees with established policies.
• Assists with replenishing shelf product and designing displays.
• Reports to work when scheduled and works expected hours.
