About The Position

The Assistant Manager of Health Wellness Home at Hy-Vee is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees to ensure that customer needs are met. This role emphasizes creating a friendly atmosphere, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the fundamental values of the Hy-Vee culture, which include honesty, integrity, and caring for customers and employees. The Assistant Manager will oversee training, handle employee issues, and ensure compliance with store standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • One year or more of retail experience, including performing the duties of a Service Manager.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees.

  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
  • Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading/unloading heavy items.
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service.
  • Oversees proper training and handles employee issues.
  • Assists management in determining pricing and product placement.
  • Ensures compliance with store accounting procedures.
  • Oversees building maintenance and store sanitation.
  • Uses and understands all hardware and software technology in the store.
  • Evaluates employee performance and recommends personnel actions.
  • Trains and enforces safety procedures.
  • Directs the ordering of merchandise.
  • Coordinates compliance of employees with established policies.
  • Assists with replenishing shelf product and designing displays.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and works expected hours.
