About The Position

The Assistant Manager of Health, Wellness, and Home at Hy-Vee is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees to ensure that customer needs are met. This role involves maintaining a positive atmosphere, providing excellent customer service, and overseeing various operational aspects of the store. The Assistant Manager will report to the District Store Director and Store Manager, and will have direct reports from all positions except those designated by the Store Manager. The position requires a commitment to the core values of Hy-Vee, including honesty, integrity, and professionalism.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• One year or more of retail experience, including performing the duties of a Service Manager.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.

• Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees.
• Ensures that customer's needs are met.

• Determines pricing and product placement.
• Ensures compliance with store accounting procedures.
• Oversees store sanitation and cleanliness.
• Evaluates employee performance and recommends personnel actions.
• Trains employees on safety procedures.
• Directs the ordering of merchandise.
• Assists with replenishing shelf product and designing displays.
• Recruits and interviews job applicants.
• Stays current with market trends and provides continuous education for employees.
