About The Position

The Assistant Manager, North America Brand Commercialization in Softlines Licensing is responsible for leading Direct-to-Retail (DTR) relationships and managing a licensee base to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives across various brands. This role involves developing consumer product programs in collaboration with franchise teams and content partners, driving strategic direction for assigned categories, and ensuring effective brand marketing initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience in brand management or retail business development.
  • Strong understanding of brand and property positioning and retail distribution.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with experience in licensing and account management.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Solid computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Keynote.

  • Experience in consumer electronics or technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with retail marketing and promotional strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining and driving the business strategy for assigned categories.
  • Drive strategic direction for categories assigned to the team by the governance committee.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitors, business opportunities, threats, and dynamics.
  • Research and understand competitive landscape and analyze market trends.
  • Lead licensee portfolio management including onboarding, contract negotiation, and issue resolution.
  • Provide management support in contract maintenance, financial analysis, and preparing presentations.
  • Perform functions of 'Contract Ambassador' including contract maintenance and amendments.
  • Schedule and develop agendas for partner meetings and joint business planning sessions.
  • Compile sample requests for internal teams and maintain DTR launch calendar.
  • Assist in annual budget planning and quarterly revenue forecasting.
  • Identify new business and revenue opportunities and strategize for incremental business growth.
  • Inform and guide licensees in executing brand marketing initiatives and integrate them within wider brand plans.
  • Set up line reviews with licensees and the Product Development team.
  • Help create retail and marketing strategies that complement all segments of the brand.
