The Assistant Manager - Media Enabled Services at Tata Communications is responsible for managing and supporting complex broadcast systems, ensuring seamless integration and support of broadcast technologies in live production environments. This role requires a highly skilled individual with expertise in broadcast systems, live production, and IP-based media transport networks, who can work effectively under pressure and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Manage and support complex broadcast systems including long-haul video transmission and IP-based media transport networks.
  • Oversee system upgrades and integrations, ensuring new features meet client specifications.
  • Provide engineering support for daily operations, troubleshooting system issues, and addressing client concerns.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot broadcast equipment, including production switchers and audio mixers.
  • Provide daily operational support for studio productions, including setting up production switchers and intercom systems.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for live production technical support during multi-camera broadcasts.
  • Act as a key engineering resource for live shows, supporting technical directors and audio mixers.
  • Participate in the design and architecture of new broadcast systems, including developing workflows and signal paths.
  • Supervise system integrators to ensure proper installation and testing of broadcast systems.
  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for broadcast workflows and system maintenance.
  • Collaborate with network engineering and IT departments to address networking issues.
  • Work closely with vendors and production teams to configure equipment for shows and events.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide training on new systems and technologies.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with broadcast systems and equipment, including routers and production switchers.
  • Proficiency with IP-based broadcast systems (SMPTE 2110).
  • Experience with live production environments, including multi-camera setups.
  • Expertise with transmission systems and familiarity with broadcast automation and playout systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of signal routing and troubleshooting in a live broadcast setting.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teams.
  • Experience in the broadcast industry, particularly in live production and technical operations centers.
  • Familiarity with broadcast automation systems such as Wide Orbit and Harmonic.
  • Experience working with clients in a studio or remote broadcast environment.
