About The Position

The Assistant Manager of Loan Operations is responsible for supporting the VP of Loan Operations in managing the loan department staff and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. This role involves supervising daily operations, assisting with loan processing, and providing guidance to lending staff. The Assistant Manager also evaluates loan applications and makes credit decisions based on established guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience in loan operations and management.
• Knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations.
• Strong analytical skills for evaluating loan applications and credit decisions.
• Ability to train and guide staff effectively.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electronic documentation storage and loan file documentation.
• Familiarity with escrow analysis and distribution.
• Understanding of general ledger reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing the Loan department staff under the supervision of the VP Loan Operations.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Assist with daily duties, reports, communication to staff, and training when necessary for loan staff.
• Backup underwriting Consumer Inhouse mortgage loans as needed.
• Evaluate and verify loan applications to determine consumer capacity to repay mortgage loans.
• Analyze and render credit decisions based on PEB Consumer Mortgage Underwriting guidelines and lending policies.
• Provide assistance and guidance to all Lending staff.
• Maintain competencies in all aspects of loan operations including loan servicing and processing, secondary market processing, and SBA reporting.
• Work with the VP of Loan Operations to improve processes and efficiencies of the department.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations affecting operations and credit card products.
• Identify and monitor key performance indicators for the department.
