About The Position

Description Ideate new product concepts and projects Assist in overall PD tasks (e.g. competitive analysis, benchmark evaluation, texture/shade evaluation, and project management) Manage all key milestones involved in new product launches, including conceptualizing new product ideas, selecting prototypes, evaluating submission, and tracking projects on a day⁃to⁃day basis within allotted timeframe Closely collaborate with R&D for development directions, in⁃house panel testing, and formula standards Understand and communicate skin care trends and new technologies Create comprehensive Product Development Fact Sheets for all new products Keep abreast of all new competitive product launches and issue comprehensive reviews of the marketplace on a monthly basis Conduct periodic market visits in order to keep informed about regional trends and technologies (beauty and non⁃beauty related) which can be applicable for new concepts, communication opportunities, etc. Attend and participate in new product brainstorming sessions with Marketing and R&D, assisting in the development of new concepts and ideas to drive Global business Work closely with global R&D centers (i.e. Melville, China, Japan), KIH (Korea Innovation Hub), JIH (Japan Innovation Hub) and 3rd⁃party manufacturers on new formulations, technologies, and consumer insights & trends Effectively communicate formula benefits and ingredient storytelling to cross⁃functional teams such as Copy, Marketing, Creative, Education, and PR Play an active role in the concept development, research, presentation and execution of "blue sky" innovation projects for potential calendar placement Represent the Product Development Department at relevant internal meetings Attend periodic status meetings with R&D (i.e. Melville, China, Japan), KIH, JIH, Global PD, and GBSC, issue relevant agendas, recap the meetings, and ensure that all departments are updated on pertinent information necessary to direct thedevelopment of projects in a timely fashion Evaluate all new submissions and reformulations from R&D and vendors Work closely with Packaging to provide clear direction on formulation Assist in evaluation of proposed package submissions for evacuation, aesthetics, and functionality Partner closely with Regional and Affiliate Marketing to develop new storytelling opportunities for launches and re⁃promotions Support R&D and Clinical Testing Team to create testing protocols for claims support Support R&D and Consumer Testing Team Keep all documents organized in the PD team drive Keep product closet organized and fully stocked with relevant projects Maintain product trays for new launches Help coordinate samples for Marketing and Creative requests

Requirements

  • Must possess a strong understanding of the Global beauty consumer
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, working closely with all the multiple cross⁃functional teams, such as R&D, Marketing, Sales, Education, Packaging, GBSC, and Creative and Copy teams
  • Very good product evaluation skills
  • Self⁃motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork
  • Highly organized with attention to details, deadlines, and quality of work
  • Flexibility and agility with constant changes and time restraints
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with culturally diverse teams
  • Willing to be immersed in a dynamic and fast⁃paced environment
  • Skilled with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
