About The Position

Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital The Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital represents Orlando Health’s continued commitment to the Seminole County community, which we have proudly served for 40 years. As a comprehensive acute care facility, the hospital offers a full scope of medical and surgical services, including cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedics, and women’s services with labor and delivery, alongside a future NICU. Opening with 124 beds, the 455,000 square foot hospital will be able to expand to up to 240 beds. State-of-the-art facilities include operating rooms, catheterization labs, interventional radiology, a vascular lab, an ICU and a full-service emergency department. For labor and delivery, the hospital features six private suites thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home while providing exceptional medical care. Each suite includes a hydrotherapy tub for laboring, shower, recliner, adjustable bed with a squat bar, wireless and waterproof heart rate monitors for mom and baby, a smart board that integrates patient and nurse information from Epic, WiFi, and televisions. These modern amenities ensure a comfortable and supportive environment for every patient. Labor and delivery services, and a future neonatal intensive care unit 6 state-of-the-art operating rooms 3 catheterization labs with a dedicated interventional radiology and vascular lab Comprehensive cardiovascular care 16 ICU Beds Observation unit Outpatient Scripts Pharmacy Position Summary: Manages a variety of servicing and repair operations to maintain day to day buildings, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds for the provision of a safe working environment for the buildings under the span of control.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in healthcare administration, business administration or construction management required; or
  • High school diploma or equivalent with trade, vocational school graduate, or building trades apprenticeship and one (1) year of experience (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section) may substitute the Associates degree.
  • Five (5) years of experience in facility maintenance to include three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Knowledge of healthcare codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support and knowledge to support the engineering team by diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving problems associated with the operation and repair of equipment, utilities, and building systems.
  • Manages the planning and implementation of assigned corrective and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Manages the costs for optimum operation of equipment and satisfactory results from maintenance and repair or installation work performed by assigned personnel.
  • Manages the completion rates of all corrective and preventive maintenance tasks and ensures timely completion as scheduled and reports any anomalies to engineering leadership
  • Responsible for parts and supplies, selection of products and procurement needs for the department using organizations purchase order system or procurement cards.
  • Manages engineering projects and day-to-day project management duties as assigned.
  • Provides management support for planning and coordinating all contracted maintenance activities with vendors.
  • Supports the Facilities Manager or Sr. Facilities Manager with day to day operations of the department and facilities and takes responsibility for the facility and the operations during the Manager’s absence.
  • Communicates with the Manager, facilities or Senior Manager, Facilities concerning assignments and activities to include specific needs and concerns.
  • Insures that staff and assigned areas of responsibility meet all standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance of the Engineering department with the Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA), The Joint Commission (TJC), and all local and state regulatory agencies through regular life safety and EOC document reviews.
  • Ensures that all licensure requirements are current and up-to-date.
  • Promotes a team environment both inter/intra departmentally and is a role model and team player.
  • Manages various personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
