About The Position

The Assistant Manager, Facilities oversees a variety of servicing and repair operations to maintain safe, functional, and compliant buildings, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds. This role ensures a safe working environment, regulatory compliance, and smooth day-to-day operations, while providing leadership and support to the facilities engineering team.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or construction management required; OR High school diploma (or equivalent) with trade/vocational school graduate or building trades apprenticeship, plus one (1) year of additional experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of facilities, trades, or engineering experience.
  • Strong background in trades and hospital facilities management (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with building systems, utilities, and equipment.
  • Manage corrective and preventive maintenance programs, ensuring timely task completion and reporting anomalies to leadership.
  • Oversee costs, supplies, product selection, and procurement needs for maintenance and operations.
  • Support and coordinate contracted maintenance activities with vendors.
  • Manage engineering projects and related project management duties.
  • Ensure compliance with AHCA, The Joint Commission, and state/local regulations through routine life safety and environment of care (EOC) reviews.
  • Maintain current operational manuals, licensure requirements, fire alarm testing documentation, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead personnel functions including hiring, scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
  • Support the Facilities Manager or Sr. Facilities Manager and assume responsibility in their absence.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a culture of safety across the department.
  • Conduct regular hospital walks to identify and address construction-related issues.
  • Ensure ceilings and construction closures meet compliance standards through detailed walkthroughs.
  • Set up and organize the maintenance system (TMS), including barcoding and identifying equipment to ensure clarity for the facilities team.
  • Locate valves, dampers, and other infrastructure components to support readiness.
  • Oversee operational needs across Wiregrass Ranch Hospital's two MABs and offsite ED.
  • Available ASAP to support hospital readiness and transition.
