As the Assistant General Manager, you’ll partner closely with the General Manager to lead the daily operations of Trek Bicycle’s 300,000 sq. ft. Distribution Center in Johnson Creek, WI. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the performance, culture, and success of a high energy team which includes 3 Operations Managers, 10 team leaders/coordinators, 1 Office Administrator, and a workforce of 100+ employees. This role is perfect for a seasoned distribution operations leader who thrives on developing people, driving results, and fostering an environment where individuals feel motivated and supported. You’ll oversee all aspects of floor operations, including safety, employee engagement, talent development, production performance, and staffing—ensuring the DC runs smoothly, efficiently, and with a strong sense of purpose. The Assistant Distribution Manager has ever expanding responsibilities and may include occasional travel between distribution sites, HQ, and potential for international travel. The ideal candidate must be a proactive people leader who brings high energy, strong critical thinking skills, has comfort working in autonomy and ambiguity, and has a genuine passion for building high performing teams and can have fun while working for the greatest bike company on earth!

Requirements

  • Prior supervisory experience (3 – 5 years) in operations/distribution.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced to Intermediate skills in MS Office Products
  • Experience with labor management systems (i.e, Easy Metrics, TZA)
  • Experience with payroll systems (i.e. Workday)
  • WMS proficiency (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Blue Yonder)
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment with autonomy and ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective team building skills and a proven track record of success.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in providing leadership, communication, managing logistics and creating effective teamwork throughout the Distribution Center.
  • Helping establish, reinforce, track, and measure safety, quality, and performance goals for the Distribution Center.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in cooperation with the leadership team.
  • Support in maintaining the physical condition of the Distribution, grounds, and material handling equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures to comply with legal and company requirements.
  • Communicate with other department personnel to ensure coordination of Distribution Center activities with activities of other functions such as sales, records control and purchasing.
  • Assume full responsibility in the absence of the Distribution Manager.
  • Lead and mentor salaried and hourly leaders.
  • Lead staffing, production planning, CI, and key initiatives.
  • Lead changes and pivots throughout the day to ensure daily success.
