About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Manager, Development and Permitting supports Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) North and South campuses project teams with coordination of multi-jurisdictional permitting and development processes. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including FDEP and SFWMD requirements—by managing permit applications, reviews, and approvals across various authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs). MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews and supports development activities across UDX North and South Campuses. Serves as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders with all Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), ensuring compliance with development standards and maintaining a centralized database of all issued variances. Review and track permitting documents for all projects, including FDEP and SFWMD submissions. Act as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and interface directly with local agencies to ensure timely and accurate permitting for UO properties. Maintain and update the External Affairs underground utility asset database, ensuring accurate as-built documentation is available to support future development and permitting efforts. Develop, manage, and update the Campus Asset Management Plan (CAMP) models for both campuses. Collaborate with vendors and consultants on ad-hoc projects and oversee the master pervious/impervious surface model and related data tables. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of construction management, code enforcement inspections or related experience is required, including comprehensive knowledge of municipal permitting processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of municipal permitting processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and written.
  • Ability to quickly learn and use new skills to enhance development process.
  • Ability to interact professionally and cooperatively to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, AHJ representatives, and contractors.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree – in related field (ex. – construction management, mechanical systems) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree - construction management, MEP or related field is preferred.
