About The Position

The position of an Assistant Manager, CNP is available immediately at East Central ISD. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The Assistant Manager is responsible for on-site leadership of campus child nutrition operations behind the school Cafeteria Manager. This role helps ensure that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served, meeting time constraints set by menu requirements established by Central Office administration and the Cafeteria Manager. The Assistant Manager also ensures all operations follow safe food handling standards while maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment, creating a customer service-focused workplace for all students, staff, and the public.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years' experience in the cafeteria preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Must be capable of operating a computer.
  • Ability to manage staff.
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and appliances used in food preparation preferred.
  • Must maintain required hours per Professional Standards guidelines (10 hours annually).

Responsibilities

  • Assumes management of the cafeteria in manager's absence.
  • Responsible for overseeing breakfast preparation and maintaining production sheets for breakfast meals.
  • Help manager ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently by campus child nutrition team members.
  • Responsible for upkeep of site recipe books.
  • Assist manager in maintaining all serving schedules and serving all food items according to menu specifications defined by departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist manager in ensuring that food is produced safely and is of high quality according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.
  • Store and handle food items and supplies safely following health and safety codes and regulations.
  • Assist manager in enforcement of standards of cleanliness, health, and safety.
  • Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards.
  • Follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety.
  • Assist manager in correcting unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the cafeteria manager.
  • Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities in manager's absence.
  • Assist manager in maintaining a clean and organized food and material storage areas.
  • Conduct regular physical equipment and supplies inventory.
  • Assist manager in maintaining a positive work environment where all team members provide great customer service for students, staff, and the public.
  • Complete annual continuing education requirements.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Responsible for all professional development as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
