About The Position

Assistant Manager, Clinical Pharmacy - Atlantic Health, Morristown, NJ Job Responsibilities The assistant manager of clinical pharmacy will provide pharmacotherapeutic support to the entire enterprise including inpatient and outpatient settings. This pharmacist will participate in multidisciplinary committees including medication safety, opioid stewardship, antimicrobial stewardship, and others as necessary. Additional responsibilities include: Collaborate with site and enterprise pharmacy teams to support formulary management and pharmacoeconomic initiatives Providing drug information to healthcare professionals and patients as needed. Contributing to quality improvement initiatives related to medication use and patient safety. Staying current with developments in pharmacotherapy and evidence-based medicine. Serve as a preceptor and mentor for pharmacists, pharmacy residents and students as needed Augment the education of healthcare and non-healthcare team members on medication use. Participate in site-based and system-wide multi-disciplinary committees. Conduct medication use evaluations and research projects in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to identify areas of medication use optimization with the goal of publication and/or presentation at local and/or national meetings. Provide periodic updates to AHS stakeholders on quality initiatives and outcomes. Serves as lead resource for AH P&T agenda including collaborating with clinical pharmacy team on strategic initiatives. Coordinates with site leadership on communication and mitigation of drug shortages. Assists site leadership with accreditation and regulatory preparation including preparing clinical updates and data metrics. Plans and implements drug utilization management and quality improvement plans. Liaison with site clinical leadership on policy and guideline development. Active participant on nursing practice councils and policy oversight committees.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy with PharmD degree required.
  • Current NJ Board of Pharmacy license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a PGY1 residency preferred.
  • Board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience in a hospital practice setting preferred.
  • Experience in research activities also preferred.
