Qualifications POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Senior Manager -Centralized Production (CP), the Manager-Centralized Production leads Donated Goods Retail (DGR) production associates to achieve goals in sorting, grading, pricing, and delivering produced goods to appropriate store locations as directed. This position is responsible for training DGR associates in proper production methods that meet quality and quantity goals and ensuring proper safeguarding and handling of customer donations to maximize their value to our mission. Demonstrating servant leadership, the Manager - CP supports the safety and well-being of team members by making the delivery of mission services to them a high priority.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; some college, bachelor's degree in management, operations, or similar field strongly preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience supervising production and/or retail operations using standardized quality and productivity processes to achieve revenue, productivity, net income, and other key organizational performance goals.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds in support of donation and production areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in non-profits or human services work environments is a strong plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Upholds and models Goodwill's mission, core values, and servant leadership philosophy.
  • Understands and commits to making mission services delivery to DGR team members a high priority - working collaboratively with life skills coaches and Human Resources to perform this mission.
  • Establish a culture of compliance with safety, ethics, and quality standards within all operations.
  • Provide leadership, training, guidance, and support to team members and foster continuous learning and improvement in team member performance and CP operations.
  • Build production success by properly selecting, training, mentoring, and developing employees.
  • Ensure personal leadership is focused first on people and mission.
  • Build strong teamwork throughout the production unit.
  • Be attentive to turnover, encouraging positive movement for employees, whether inside or outside Goodwill.
  • Minimize no-call/no-show behaviors through effective individual employee communications.
  • Engage employees through servant leadership and modeling of expected work ethic.
  • Take a professional interest in employees' needs to develop them and facilitate positive change.
  • Collaborating with the Senior Manager -CP, deploy effective staffing models and scheduling procedures to achieve the most effective and efficient operations within budget.
  • Monitor and make timely course corrections.
  • Implement standardized production procedures.
  • Facilitate training and ensure procedures are correctly followed and the production area is efficiently staffed to reduce warehouse inventory and keep stores fully stocked with quality goods.
  • Participate in production planning, goal setting, expense management, developing process improvement standards, and measuring achievements.
  • Actively monitor production and store service variances and implement measures to correct underperformance.
  • Champion regular communications with all employees to ensure that information about Goodwill's initiatives, programs, benefits, announcements, goal setting, progress against goals, expectations, and accountabilities are well known.
  • Effectively utilize data analytics and problem-solving skills to achieve Agency goals.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Logistics and Transportation to maximize store operations efficiency.
  • Take a proactive role in protecting the organization's assets and resources by appropriately controlling expenses.
  • Minimize shrinkage through direct observation procedures, and take immediate corrective action as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver timely performance appraisals for direct reports; coordinate with Human Resources to administer rewards and recognition, transfers, corrective actions, or dismissals following the organization's policies and applicable law.
