The position involves assisting the Branch Manager of a Navy Federal Credit Union branch in overseeing the efficient operation of the branch. This includes ensuring that operational functions are completed and performed properly by branch staff. The role requires supervising and leading the branch team to provide members with a full range of Navy Federal Credit Union products and services, including lending products and depository accounts such as checking, savings, certificates, IRAs, revocable trusts, and estate accounts. The individual will assist the Manager in monitoring cash operations and branch self-auditing efforts to keep credit union assets secure and within operational limits. In addition to managing staff to ensure vault opening, closing, and balancing procedures are completed, the position also involves participating in outside marketing and promotional activities for members and potential members through financial presentations, local events, and realtor/trade shows. The role includes participating in recruiting efforts, onboarding, and initial training of team members, as well as managing budget, purchasing, tracking, and records retention for business expenses. The individual will guide team development for continual growth in technical, soft, and leadership skills, and provide applicable support to ensure the team achieves and maintains product, service, and business goals, including cross-servicing of Navy Federal products and services. The position also requires analyzing reports and conducting trend analysis to optimize business performance, ensuring compliance with all security, safety, and emergency preparedness procedures, as well as HR-related policies, practices, and procedures. The individual will perform supervisory and managerial responsibilities, including supervising daily activities, ensuring adequate staffing, establishing performance goals, preparing and conducting performance appraisals, and developing, mentoring, and counseling staff. The role may also involve acting as Manager in the incumbent's absence and performing other duties as assigned.
