About The Position

The Assistant Manager at Taco Cabana is responsible for supporting the restaurant's operations and managing a team of hourly associates during their shifts. The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient operations in line with company policies and state and federal laws.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Business Administration or Hospitality preferred; High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a restaurant environment with career progression and verifiable results for external candidates.
  • Good record of achieving results and knowledge of brand's operating procedures for internal candidates.
  • Ability to adapt to business needs and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Functional understanding of Profit & Loss statements and cost controls in restaurant operations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Basic computer skills, with Excel preferred.

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the management team in staffing and daily operational activities to ensure efficient restaurant operations.
  • Supervise and direct staff to ensure prompt and courteous service, proper food preparation, and cleanliness of the restaurant.
  • Assist in recruitment, hiring, orientation, and training of hourly team members, and evaluate their performance.
  • Utilize company training tools to provide training in all aspects of restaurant operations.
  • Maintain restaurant equipment and facilities according to company guidelines and report needed repairs.
  • Perform administrative tasks including payroll actions, inventory ordering, and employee scheduling.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions to stay current with certifications and company policies.
  • Assist the General Manager with local store marketing activities to promote products and services.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting functions and internal audit guidelines.
