About The Position

The Assistant Manager of AMSTI assists the Manager with planning professional development sessions, school support cycles, and training teachers. Coordinates and disburses kit materials to teachers. Provides follow-up support services to teachers and schools who participate in the Alabama Math, Science, Technology Initiative (AMSTI) project. Assists the AMSTI Manager with financial, staff and site management, and programmatic responsibilities, including coordinating and facilitating professional development sessions, school support cycles and training educators, as well as coordinating and disbursing kit materials to teachers. Assists in developing and providing follow-up support services to educators and schools who participate in the Alabama Math, Science, Technology Initiative (AMSTI) project.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, math, or science
  • Two (2) years of K-12 education experience
  • Teacher Certificate issued by the Alabama State Department of Education
  • Must have valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies
  • Basic knowledge of keyboarding, personal computers usage, and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs)
  • Strong interpersonal skills in a professional setting

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of experience in K-12 education
  • Two (2) years experience as an AMSTI Education Specialist
