About The Position

We are looking for a capable Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Cambridge Square Grand Rapids/Plymouth Arms apartment community. We are offering a one-time $1,000 hiring bonus for this position (paid after 6 months of employment) The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds and perform the duties of the MS in his/her absence.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
Demonstrated ability or experience in the maintenance field desirable.
Must maintain universal EPA designation/certification.
Must maintain a valid driver's license in the state of residency.
Able to work overtime and emergency call in.
Must be willing to travel for training and meetings.
Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.

Nice To Haves

Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

Complete all maintenance requests in an efficient and courteous manner.
Repair and maintain simple electrical circuits, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures.
Repair, install and maintain basic plumbing fixtures such as water heaters, lavatories, toilets, dishwashers. Service, maintain and trouble shoot HVAC systems.
Repair carpeting and tile.
Maintain lawns, grounds, landscaping, and parking lots including snow removal.
Repair and maintain building exteriors and interior common areas.
Prepare vacant apartment for market ready condition, may include cleaning and painting.
Provide emergency resident support and respond to after-hours emergency calls.
Assist Maintenance Supervisor with scheduling contractors to perform work on the property.
Assist Maintenance Supervisor with directing team members.
