About The Position

The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor will assist the Camps Maintenance Supervisor in overseeing all facilities and grounds at Miracle Ranch. The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor will train staff, develop and manage the department budget, and make necessary repairs. Fostering a spirit of unity and support for the other camp departments, while providing positive, Godly leadership will be a primary focus in this role. Developing plans/projects and schedules for future improvement while maintaining the camp’s facilities to comfortably accommodate guests will be a main responsibility.

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 3 years’ experience in Facility work
  • Able to learn various certifications for water testing, etc.
  • Basic Microsoft office email, word, excel
  • Able to operation tractor, truck, trailer

Nice To Haves

  • Construction or facility management degree
  • 5 years of Facility management experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all buildings, equipment and vehicles while obtaining permits and licenses such as heavy equipment operating and bulldozer and back-hoe licenses necessary for new construction, remodels, vehicles and equipment.
  • Assists Facilities Supervisor with installing appropriate lighting, fencing, tools and key systems to ensure camp security.
  • Collect trash and debris on the grounds and around buildings and plan arrangements for collection by the disposal company.
  • Develop and maintain an energy conversation plan for camp facilities as well as monitor utility use such as electrical, gas, internet, phone lines, etc., providing information to CRISTA Directors and leadership on the cost while also communicating with utility companies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop to ensure the safety of those using it.
  • Obtain and organize records for all vehicles and any applicable vendor contracts while also performing repairs and facilitating other projects.
  • Ensure that firewood is cut and available for all up-coming camp programs and needs, and stock fire pits.
  • Schedule on-call personnel who can respond to emergencies related to the facilities or equipment when a camp or guest group is in session.
  • Lead and initiate contact with local authorities for the purpose of safety enforcement, when appropriate.
  • Develop and manage the Facilities department budget, monitoring collection expenses and meeting with the Director, focusing on future development and discussing approval for unbudgeted expenses.
  • Create and implement a three-to-five-year preventative maintenance schedule, focusing on facility projects such as roof replacement and up to date work on Camps vehicles, determining if replacement is needed.
  • Assist the Director by meeting weekly, communicating, developing and reviewing short- and long-range plans and projects for facility development.
  • Educate and train all summer staff on specific requirements for safely using camp vehicles and tools.
  • Supervise capital and facilities projects and represent the camp when capital projects are contracted.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned including horse programs.
  • Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
  • Assist with leading and training interns, facility volunteers
