About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the incumbent will assist in managing the day-to-day work maintenance and asset management activities, including but not limited to overseeing the corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment. The role requires wastewater plant maintenance experience and involves leading and directing the integrated maintenance and repair operations for the facilities and equipment for the South Fulton County Sewer System. The incumbent will ensure the timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of maintenance services, serve as project manager for Capital Maintenance Events, and provide input into the design and implementation of equipment repair and replacement solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years managerial work experience related to the duties specified.
  • Extensive background in the maintenance of equipment similar to the equipment found within treatment facilities.
  • Experience with automated purchasing, maintenance systems, and project contract administration in the water/wastewater utilities industry is preferred.
  • Proficient in personnel management and report writing.
  • Familiarity with environmental and safety compliance regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Excellent proficiency in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Ability to employ and interpret customer feedback instruments.
  • Must have employee development and performance management skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation management principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs.
  • Knowledge of the design and implementation of equipment preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Lead and direct the integrated maintenance and repair operations for the facilities and equipment for the South Fulton County Sewer System.
  • Ensure the timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of maintenance services including planned system overhauls and corrective repair services.
  • Serve as project manager for Capital Maintenance Events.
  • Provide input into the design and implementation of equipment repair and replacement solutions.
  • Work with other plant departments, Engineering, and Contractors to coordinate projects.
  • Provide leadership and direction to crews and monitor all facets of equipment maintenance.
  • Administer and develop service contracts to ensure compliance with job specifications.
  • Oversee staff training and recruitment.
  • Monitor annual operating budgets and provide fiscal direction to the department.
  • Interact with project administrators, managers, and other customers.
  • Direct the implementation of shop-specific safety training programs.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that support department strategic goals.
  • Ensure development and implementation of comprehensive overhaul programs for key treatment process equipment.
  • Ensure that the CMMS functions effectively and provide work order processing.
  • Establish and direct annual maintenance programs.
  • Conduct maintainability reviews of new construction design documents.
  • Continuously survey and assess internal customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate the analysis of trends in large-scale maintenance and renewal programs.
  • Manage personnel to operate all Sewer Lift Stations throughout the Sewer System.
  • Participate in the 'Emergency on Call' rotation.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
