As a Maintenance staff person, you will play a vital role in maintaining our facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Your responsibilities will include maintenance, housekeeping, landscaping, and grounds upkeep. Previous maintenance or environmental services experience is preferred, but we’re looking for someone eager to learn, grow, and contribute to our mission. Requirements

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including off-hours for special repairs.
  • Ability to walk and move continuously throughout your shift.
  • Comfortable working at heights at or above 12 feet.
  • Able to lift and carry tools, ladders, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Model YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through your actions and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Develop a keen eye for detail, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Respond promptly to work orders and requests to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.
  • Monitor and contribute to pool maintenance; checking chemicals and pump room functions.
  • Interior maintenance projects as assigned; signage install, painting, ceiling tile replacement, etc.
  • Interior housekeeping; dust and wet mopping gym floors, glass cleaning.
  • Exterior grounds monitoring; emptying trash, securing signage, maintaining a clean space for members.
  • Engage in safe work practices, including handling heights, electricity, plumbing, pumps, chemicals, and complete required safety training.
  • Assist with event set ups and takedowns, ensuring facilities are prepared for special events and programs.
  • Communicate the importance of the Y’s commitment to child protection and enforce all YMCA policies.
