About The Position

As an Assistant Machine Operator at Pratt Industries, you will directly support all machine operations, including setup, cleanup, and recommending improvements to meet customer demand. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in the packaging industry is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions related to quality, safety, and job packets.
  • Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or graphic form.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Lift Truck Operator License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Machine Operator with maximizing equipment utilization and improving setup and downtime.
  • Identify and address mechanical concerns.
  • Maintain a clean work area using good housekeeping procedures, including sanitization and removing trip hazards.
  • Learn and understand the equipment to drive efficiencies by limiting waste and downtime.
  • Cross-train on other machines in the facility.
  • Assist in completing necessary reports accurately and timely, including Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, and Quality Data.
  • Submit maintenance work order requests for needed repairs on the machine(s).
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the production schedule and make recommendations for optimizing it to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
  • Report any unusual scheduling issues to the Supervisor.
  • Be available to work overtime as necessary, sometimes on short notice.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
